February has come to an end, along with my first three weeks in Istanbul. March is stomping in. A new month, a new perspective. Today was the first day I felt like myself. I was finally able to put my mind at ease. And, if I may assign meaning to numbers, which in a sense are time’s place holder’s—not that time is consequential or exists at all (in my opinion)—my 21st birthday, which I celebrated here in Turkey was a true wake up call. I am alive. I am healthy. I got some things I need and want to sort out in my head (who doesn’t). But, I am the seeker and holder of my happiness. My roommate gave me a bookmark for my birthday which has been my saving grace. On it, two maps collide and the quote from Confucius,

“Wherever you go; go with all your heart.”
